WHAT WE'RE READING

ADVENTURES IN CHILDREN'S LITERATURE WITH FITZ THE WONDER WHOODLE

Meet Fitz.

We call him Fitz the Wonder Whoodle because we always wonder what he'll do next! During the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown of 2020-2021, I continued my work with children through the magic of Zoom story time and YouTube. Fitz made the best reading - and teaching - companion.

Fitz joined me for Zoom story time each week and shared some of his best tricks with my audience of 120+ pre-kindergarten students. He also starred in our YouTube series, Imagine Your Story, in which we shared playful early literacy experiences with families based on our Head Start program's curriculum. Check out our work here, here, and here.

What started as part of my job has turned into a passion project to share children's literature and early literacy tips with the help of my best four-legged friend. Although we no longer share Zoom story time and new content on YouTube, we love to read and tell others about our favorite stories.
